Biography
Despite my Breton origins, i have been living around La Clayette in southern Burgungy for 17 yaers where i opened a unique shop.
After a long break i have been using my brushes again for some years now. I installed a corner workshop in the store which allows me to paint more often and exhibit my original watercolours.
I have always loved drawing.
I had the chance to learn from an art teacher who inspired me and helped me realize my particular vision.
After various professional experiences, i have taken back my pencils and brushes.
I am self-taught and paint by instinct. Using different mediums, i approach subjects in several ways with mixed techniques.
When i paint my mind is a elsewhere, and there is no longer a question of time.
I am absorbed by the colours, the mixes, the magic and the poetry of the little story that takes place in my mind to create what i imagined.
Passion and Know-how
Vegetal watercolours
Inspiration is always surprising : my eyes are captived by a flower, the density of its colors, the shape of a mushroom, the infinite details of nature push me to take my brushes.
The obvious thing is to make the pigments explode, mix them, superimpose them knowing that each painting is unique but above all feel the pleasure of creation.
Watercolours different textures and methods
The effect i like to create with watercolour are very varied. When i am in the moment, i allow the energy of the subject to take over.
Sometimes when working close to realism i create my painting over a long time with overlays and contrasts.
For example a successful painting the details of an apple with rust stains on the leaves is like a recreation.
Watercolours Romanesque churches, castles
This is a field where i only use watercolour, sometimes enhanced with ink.
My vision is very colourful with a precise initial drawing. I like the difference between the real colours of the subject and my interpretation. Some colours have my preference, especially violet, orange, turquoise and the combination of brown purple and green are also captivating.
Art postcards
Editing my cards is another way of looking at things more poetically. A different creative freedom.
The ink for the precision necessary for these subject is applied directly without pre-drawing because otherwise i lose the lightness and spontaneity of the gesture.
I use all different techniques, watercolour, pastel, ink to create postcards.
Etching
The etching is done over a long time, with patience and concentration.
No modifications are possible because the tools used are very sharp and incisive.
The different stages of this technical art allow me total freedom.
The autonomy of printing gives me a lot of pleasure in the moment of realization, which is always a surprise when i release the press for each print.
